Aircraft Spins Wildly into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Beach
A chopper flying near a well-attended California shoreline unexpectedly started spinning uncontrollably, ultimately losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm trees as spectators watched.
Footage posted on the internet depict the aircraft beginning to twirl near Huntington Beach then plunging towards the border of the shore, where it becomes wedged amidst palm groves and a set of stairs adjacent to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Update
Local firefighters stated five persons were taken to hospital including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the crash on the weekend.
Three individuals on the road were harmed. Information on their wounds were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
